n5MD in conjunction with Bandcamp is offering up a free download only compilation of tracks from our 2010 release schedule. MMX (n5BC01) is the first in a series of free n5MD releases exclusively available from Bandcamp. MMX is comprised of exclusive (and mostly unreleased) tracks from near the parenthesis, ent, proem, ruxpin, funckarma, another electronic musician, dalot, lights out asia, subtractiveLAD, and bitcrush.

audio video experiment

I have an interesting idea for an experimental audio/video project. Send me any interesting non-edited video piece of approximately three minutes in length. The video can be anything, as long as its your material and not copyrighted. If your video is chosen I will make a soundtrack for it. I will not edit the video as my main goal is to make the audio fit the video. You will be fully credited for the video footage. The finished work will be uploaded to this site and my youtube page. n5MDs ten year anniversary is approaching in 2010 and they have come up with a great idea for a special compilation. They are looking for your suggestions of "non-n5MD" artists to cover a track from an n5MD artist. Unique and creative suggestions are welcomed. But, the suggestion should not be random. So please suggest an artist to cover your favorite AEM track here.

it has been a while since i have released a full length on n5MD, two years to be exact. those two years were not spent idle, but instead resulted in five, an album that expands n5MD into territory it does not often go. for most of n5MD's existence the "idm" ( intelligent dance music) genre descriptor has been used sparingly and only for those artists that utilized a more strict electronic pallet. the label has shied away from such a specific genre tag because the music created by their artists lacks the "d" of idm...yes, dance. that trend changes with five. five puts the dance back into intelligent dance music through the fusion of techno, house, electro, and jazz. the release is unique, yet has the subtler genre signposts to lead the way. it pushes and pulls you to where idm used to be before it went astray with its over the top cuts and glitch and puts the focus back in the mind and hips. five is out on november 5. sound samples can be found here.

seed is now available. i have returned from a hiatus with a teaser for my upcoming album. "seed," a download only EP, features 2 new tracks plus live reworking of pay, which was originally released on 2006's "patience." seed more than alludes to a new direction with my music. beats propel the 3 tracks with stylistic undercurrents of techno and electro along with vast synthscapes, aural attention to detail and dubby subs still intact.
